Oscar ~ January 2024
From scared mill dog to shiny, happy puppy.
From scared mill dog to shiny, happy puppy.
"Oscar, or Big O Man as we call him, is a love. I drove out to Athens, Wisconsin to pick him up from a mill to foster him. Well that didn't last with the family, as we all fell in love with him so much we adopted him.
He was so scared, had a terrible skin yeast infection, double ear infections and worms. He was a mess.
After lots of love and vet attention he got a lot better. Oscar never liked the leash, either. It took a lot of slow and reassurance for him.
Oscar is now king of the yard, walks on a leash and is loved by his other 3 BRI sisters. The first photo is the day I picked Oscar up. The last one is him today – beautiful, shiny, healthy, and happy. We love you!" ~ Oscar's Family

Kiwi ~ January 2024
A girl as sweet as her name!
A girl as sweet as her name!
"This is Kiwi. We rescued/adopted her at the end of January 2024. Kiwi came to us all the way from Arkansas via Wisconsin. She was skittish of men, loud noises, or quick movements. She wouldn’t let me or my son come close, put a collar or leash on her, or even sit close to her. Fast forward 8 months and she’s now a big mush. Since I work from home, she’s my BFF and by my side otherwise laying in the window protecting us from the mean Amazon, FedEx, UPs people. We attribute her recent barking at “intruders” as she now knows she’s home and this is her safe place. Kiwi, as initially advised will do anything for food and will eat any type of food. Any type! She likes being able to play with her brother outside and wrestling inside. She’ll demolish any branch or stick lying around and loves to snoop around in the bushes looking for chipmunks, squirrels or birds. If only they knew they could scare her faster than she can sniff them out. We love Kiwi and are grateful to have found her and brought her into our home. A big loving mush. 125lb mush. Thanks Bullmastiff Rescuers, Inc. and team." ~ Kiwi's Dad
Gus ~ January 2024
Puppy mill dog becomes a world traveler & mascot!
Puppy mill dog becomes a world traveler & mascot!
"This is Gus, who came from an Amish puppy miller. His temperament is phenomenal. He is such a smart boy and learns things very quickly. We’ve tried to expose him to different situations and he has thrived. I travel for work and my husband and Gus come with me. Gus is a magnet for people and has a fan club pretty much wherever we stay. Sunday afternoons we stop in at our local Italian American club for a quick visit with Gus, and he has become the unofficial mascot!
Gus has some pretty bad food allergies so we have to be careful what we give him. My husband makes mashed potatoes and then stuffs the Kong shaped like a bone with hollow ends. He freezes it for him. Gus quickly caught on as soon as he sees the hand mixer it’s time for a treat.
The picture is of Gus in our garage when we work out once a week with a trainer. He adores her and joins in the fun when we do floor exercises. Gus is an amazing Rescue! We are so thankful to have him part of our family. Thank you BRI for trusting us to give him the best life possible. Oh and I forgot to add he is a favorite with our vet and all the staff!" ~ Gus's Mom

"George is a puppy mill rescue. Every day he makes progress and learns to trust. We adore him and let him set the pace. He has been an amazing addition to our house and companion to our reactive girl Violet who absolutely loves him." ~ George's Mom
Maple ~ May 2023
From timid mill dog to family cuddlebug!
From timid mill dog to family cuddlebug!
"We adopted Maple in May of 2023. She was a very timid, skittish girl, and everything scared her. She didn’t use her voice (bark) for a month. Today, she’s overcome a lot of fears. She plays, loves car rides, and enjoys playing with her 2 brothers. She greets you at the door, barking with her tail wagging! She’s the biggest cuddle bug, and now the biggest guard dog of her people and pack. She will walk on a leash and do her business. She loves her doggie ice cream treats. She’s never slept on a dog bed, wouldn’t go near one. Just yesterday, she finally got on one! She loves it when Mommy tells her how brave and proud she is of her accomplishments. From day one, our bed has been her safe spot, so she sleeps in a king size bed with her parents, and when she’s ready for bed, she lets you know. Maple is a blessing to our family." ~ Maple's Mom
