 Bullmastiff/Great Dane Mix-1 y/o-Arkansas

Judge is a 1 year old, 90 pound Dane/Mastiff mix puppy. Judge is neutered, healthy and has had a complete work up at the vet, HW negative and has all his vaccines. He has learned so much since coming into foster but he still has things to learn.  He will need someone who will be patient with a year old, 90 pound puppy!  He needs play time, long walks, and yard time. 
 
Judge has learned come, sit, down, paw, over and we are working on stay and leash manners. Judge would be a perfect dog for an active family and would be great for agility competitions, long hikes, etc.
 
Judge is very treat motivated and takes treats very gently which makes training so much easier. He does love to learn new tricks. He is submissive when playing or meeting other dogs but can get rambunctious during play time. He is still just a puppy and needs to learn how to match his play level with his playmate. He loves toys and will play for hours.  He loves everyone he meets including the horses on the farm.  Maybe he thinks they are related!
 
We are actively working on some of his puppy habits such as jumping on people and thinking your hand is a toy. Please know he is not doing anything wrong – it is just puppy behavior and he needs to be rewarded for proper behavior. These are the only two behaviors we have found that Judge needs correction on.
 
Judge is amazing and an active household would be lucky to have this pup in their home.  We don’t recommend a home with small children – he simply doesn’t understand his own size and activity level.  He has a very high prey drive so he can’t go to a home with cats or small dogs.
