Meet Kaia!
Kaia at a Glance
A Little More About Kaia:
Kaia came to us when her elderly owner had to move into an assisted living home and could not take Kaia with her. She was reported to live with a cat who bossed her around; however, she has not been around any cats since being in our care, so we cannot verify that she is cat friendly.
Kaia can be dog selective and, therefore, will need to meet any potential fur-siblings before she can be adopted into a home with other dogs. Even though she was reported to live with two dogs and was fine with a volunteer's dog, she has not gotten along at all with her foster's pugs. She will definitely need a home with no small dogs and might even need to be your one and only.
In her former home Kaia used to enjoy daily walks and playtime with her neighbor who was a special needs young man. She was kind, gentle, and patient with him and looked forward to his visits. Unfortunately we have no history on her with kids and she has not been around children while in our care, so we cannot say for sure that she would be good with kids.
Kaia's foster describes her as the perfect house guest. She is completely house-trained and is able to roam freely in the house. She also takes treats very gently like the lady she is!
Personality and Preferences:
Kaia loves to go on car rides and will jump right in, ready to go. She also likes to go for walks and loves people. In spite of her age, she is still playful and can be spunky! She is equally content to play or to snuggle on the couch.
Kaia follows her foster mom everywhere and enjoys just being with her, even if it is just laying at her foster mom's side while she works in the yard. Her foster mom enjoys her company very much and would have loved to adopt her. Unfortunately, since Kaia does not like her pugs, this was not possible.
Kaia is approximately 7.5 years old. She is healthy, spayed, HW negative and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Adoption donations for BRI dogs range from $300 to $600. This is based on the age, health and training needs of the dog being adopted. Donations are discounted for elderly dogs or dogs with special needs. 100% of donations are directed to the veterinary expenses of the dogs in our care. BRI is a non-profit organization so your donation may be considered tax deductible.
Kaia is being fostered in Virginia; however, don’t let location be a barrier, BRI can arrange transport to many states east of the Mississippi!
- Basic Info: Approximately 7.5 yrs. old, female, Bullmastiff
- Possibly good with: older children and select medium to large male dogs
- Prefers a home without: cats, small dogs, small children
- Has been: house-trained, knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, wait, up, no, come), and listens well
- Working on: leash training and has made great improvements
- Is: spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped
- Can be described as: gentle, patient, sweet, quiet, calm, affectionate, playful, faithful, couch potato
- Enjoys: car rides, walks, people, treats and nylabones, hanging out with her foster mom, and lounging on the couch
