She walked up to me and she asked me to dance.
I asked her her name and in a Bullmastiff voice she said Lola.

La La La La Lola
So it wasn’t all that dramatic. I am outgoing and friendly but, hey, asking a stranger to dance?
Well, maybe. I’m 90 pounds of smart and active, 4 ½ years old, and don’t let the sugar face fool
you! I’m also most likely a small Mastiff and not a Bulllmastiff, but let’s not be prejudiced here.
I like car rides, walks, and HIKES and I have lovely leash manners so it’s fun to have me along
when you’re doing these things. I’ve had a rough go lately – my family dumped me at a
Midwest shelter when they were evicted. Then the shelter placed me with a young guy who
was nice but didn’t have time for me, so I found myself being taken in by BRI and moved to
New England for foster care. Good thing I love the car, right?
Well, now I’m really ready to find my forever home. I am housebroken, vaccinated,
microchipped, and HW-. Crate trained, and healthy, and did I say smart? Yep – that’s me. I can
open a refrigerator door, sneak into a cabinet, occasionally I can manage a door…but I’m really
good about stopping if you tell me “no”. I’ve learned to take treats politely instead of letting
you see my ravenous grizzly bear imitation, which is supposedly more important than my acting
skills.
I’d love a fenced yard to relax in. I am respectful of the fence boundaries, but I love to chase
squirrels and other little critters like outdoor cats. I’m an outstanding watch dog too, or so I’m
told. I’d be happy as an only child because I love to be right by my person’s side 24/7, but could
probably be coerced into sharing the house with a big friendly male dog. No small children for
me because of my size and energy level. Sometimes I can be a little aloof at first, but offer me a
treat and pet me nicely and I am your friend forever.
I’m in CT now, but BRI can arrange to get me to my forever home anywhere east of the
Mississippi, so please fill out an adoption application for me at www.bullmastiffrescuers.net
under Forms. In the meantime, I’ll try to work on my safecracking skills, and maybe I can learn
to load the dishwasher. Or drive!
