Charleigh ~ May 2024
It was meant to be!
It was meant to be!
"We were only supposed to free Charleigh from Saginaw Animal Control and drive her to our house, where we were going to hold her for a couple hours until she was picked up for transport to a temporary foster for approximately a one week stay before being transported out-of-state to her foster home.
The first foster had a family emergency so we offered to keep Charleigh for the week until the out-of-state transfer could take place. BRI had two transports that weekend and there was difficulty filling hers, so we offered to extend her foster stay.
Charleigh then became ill, throwing up everything she ate, resulting in an emergency vet visit until 2:30 am. The next week she had a large amount of bleeding from her rectum, resulting in another 2:30 am emergency vet visit. By this time we were quite invested emotionally. The vet said, “She really likes you.”, and Charleigh just made herself at home. It all seemed like fate. End result, adoption. She is such a character! She talks all the time." ~ Charleigh's Mom

Loki ~ May 2024
This trickster knows his tricks!
This trickster knows his tricks!
"Loki came to us at around 7 months old; he was a little shy, and a bit unsure of his new surroundings. He is about to turn one, his personality shines, and he has gained so much confidence. He is smart, ornery, and just the gentlest soul. Loki is healing the holes in our hearts following the passing of our last mastiff. He loves to snuggle on the couch, sit in the sun shine, and play with all his toys. He recently earned his Canine Good Citizen, and is working towards his therapy dog title. He is very clever and always willing to work. Depending on how his training progresses, he may even become my service dog. If you catch Loki out and about you’re sure to get a kiss and some snuggles! He’s a tad bit clumsy due to having one blind eye but he does not let it slow him down. We are so excited to see where all he can go. He’s just an amazing boy! Loki is happy, healthy and brings so much joy to our house. We couldn’t be more grateful for him and for BRI giving us our newest family member!" ~ Loki's Mom

Hemingway may not have 150 cats, but he has a story to tell...
"We officially adopted Hemingway in March after fostering him for a month or two and realizing we would never be able to let him leave. He was a stray from Detroit and is completely blind. He was skin and bones with very raggedy torn up ears when he came to us. Fast forward to now, we can no longer count all his bones, his ears are fluffy and beautiful, and although he is still blind, he does not let that slow him down. He is a funny, laid back, super chill guy. He loves people and loves hunting around the house finding us all. I always think he is taking attendance 😂 He fits in perfectly with our other 2 BRI girls. We absolutely love him." ~ Hemingway's Mom
Kodi ~ March 2024
From unwanted to unconditional love.
From unwanted to unconditional love.
Kodi was rescued from a high-kill shelter, where his owner had dropped him off, stating that they did not have time for him anymore. His foster mom brought him home, fell in love with him, and couldn’t bear to let him go. He now not only has a mom who loves him dearly and makes all the time in the world for him, but he even has a sister fur-sibling to play with, and multiple ferret siblings!
Charlie ~ February 2024
Did someone say zoomies?
Did someone say zoomies?
"This is Charlie! We adopted her in February from BRI. She joined her brother, Miggy, who we also adopted from BRI 8 years ago. Charlie is the best playmate for Miggy and has the funniest personality. We love her so much and she is the perfect addition. She gets some very serious cases of the zoomies and provides constant entertainment!!" ~ Charlie's Mom
