Fostering isn't the only way to help a Bullmastiff in need. BRI relies on a dedicated team of volunteers who make our rescue mission possible.
Whether you can transport a dog, provide a temporary overnight stay, conduct home visits, or assist in other ways, your time and talents can have a lasting impact. Every volunteer plays an important role, and we simply couldn't save as many dogs without our incredible volunteer network.

Transport Volunteers
BRI rescues Bullmastiffs from across the country, and our Transport Volunteers make those rescues possible.
By donating their time and using their own vehicles, volunteers help transport dogs to foster homes, veterinary appointments, and forever families. Routes are flexible and coordinated around volunteer availability, so you can help with as little as one leg of a journey.
Because BRI does not use commercial transporters or fly dogs within the United States, our volunteer transport network is essential. Best of all, mileage, fuel costs, and other eligible transportation expenses incurred while volunteering are generally tax-deductible. Every mile driven helps give a Bullmastiff a second chance at a safe, loving home.
Overnight Hosts
Long-distance transports sometimes require dogs to rest overnight before continuing their journey. That's where our Overnight Hosts step in.
As an Overnight Host, you'll provide a safe, quiet place for a Bullmastiff to spend one or two nights while traveling to a foster or forever home. BRI provides guidance and support, and these stays are typically short-term and planned in advance.
Opening your home for even a single night can make a long journey safer and far less stressful for a dog on the way to a new beginning.
Temporary Fosters
Sometimes life happens. A foster family may need to travel, experience an emergency, or become temporarily unavailable. Other times, a Bullmastiff needs immediate rescue before a long-term foster home has been secured.
Temporary Foster Volunteers provide a safe, loving place for a dog to stay for a few days or weeks until they can return to their regular foster home or move into a committed foster placement.
These short-term commitments are invaluable and often make the difference between being able to rescue a dog immediately or having to leave them in an unsafe or uncertain situation.
Home Visit Volunteers
Every Bullmastiff deserves a safe, loving forever home. Home Visit Volunteers help us ensure our dogs are placed with families who are prepared to meet their needs.
After receiving training and guidance from BRI, Home Visit Volunteers meet with prospective adopters, tour the home, and complete a simple evaluation. These visits help us verify that the home is a good match for both the family and the dog while giving adopters an opportunity to ask questions about the adoption process.
Home visits are one of the most important steps in finding lifelong homes for our Bullmastiffs, and volunteers in this role play a vital part in every successful adoption.
