Sponsor Poppy

Poppy was just four years old when she came to BRI from a Texas shelter while heartworm positive and with a swollen foot that initially didn’t appear to cause her any discomfort. After successfully completing heartworm treatment and being spayed, her foot was re-evaluated. Sadly, we discovered she had an aggressive cancer that had deeply affected her foot and surrounding tissues.

Despite everything she has been through, Poppy doesn’t know she’s supposed to slow down. She continues to enjoy life to the fullest with her foster family, soaking up every moment with the people and dogs she loves. Her favorite things include camping, exploring, snuggling with her humans, and playing with her foster sibling.

Poppy is a reminder to live in the moment and enjoy the good things in life. She loves treats (all treats… and then some!), and while toys don’t always stand a chance with her, she’s happiest when she’s surrounded by love. Poppy is living her best life, and BRI is honored to be part of her journey.
